Blackwater Brass Band – In the cold winter of 2014, there was a gathering of musicians from all along the Gulf Coast. Each musician contributed their own unique flavor of musical taste to create a new soundscape. After exploring that soundscape through the long cold night, these coastal men of music emerged from the other side, baptized in those blessed waters, and were dubbed, Blackwater Brass. It would still be many years before their sound was cultured and their power harnessed. Over the years members would be lost, and of course, others with amazing skills to contribute were found, and finally, as the dust settled on the tumultuous journey, the group found stability and rallied around that newfound permanence, embracing the music, and sharing it with any who would lend an ear. So, should you find yourself lucky enough to be a part of a Blackwater Brass event, please enjoy with an open, and honest heart, a youthful excitement teeming with the energy of those glory days, and a willingness to explore formerly forbidden areas as Blackwater Brass brings leads you onto a new day
